About
Steve Pearl is the founder and President of HomeFront Corporate Services, Inc. of Trappe, PA and the Vice President and CIO of the Dudnyk Exchange. With over sixteen years of experience as the VP and CIO of an award winning, nationally recognized advertising group and eight years in financial and technical administration leadership at Eastern University, Pearl brings a mission-focused, multi-disciplinary, infectiously energetic approach to every consulting engagement and leadership opportunity. Pearl also offers market outreach and support experience, having developed more than a half-dozen brand realignments and product revitalization campaigns over the last two years including software products, non-profits organizations, and professional services firms.
As an organizational leadership and technology alignment expert, Steve Pearl has helped companies throughout the Delaware Valley refocus their energies and budgets to maximum bottom line impact. His focus on building team excellence, backed by individual coaching, helps organizations identify hidden stars in their midst while helping struggling team members strengthen the quality of their serve. Pearl’s visionary style of technology integration into organizational mission has led to many ground-breaking firsts including cutting edge workflow automation systems, "telecommunity" friendly infrastructures and systems, wireless mobility footprints, and, more recently, energy-reducing Green IT initiatives. In addition to road map consulting in technology and organizational alignment, Pearl offers team leadership development seminars and personal coaching flavored with a humorous and relaxed, role play-based approach.
Pearl is available for speaking engagements on a wide variety of topics including:
-
Leadership development workshops based on a humorous look at the sometimes wierd world of organizational dynamics. Pearl’s “Tornados, Train Wrecks, and Other Man-Made Disasters” presentation brings leadership and decision-making best practices to light through case studies of real-world leadership choices gone wrong. Through role play and audience participation, individuals readily identify their own leadership styles and take steps to strengthen good leadership habits over time.
-
Technology team leadership and how to turn hard-core geeks into visionary leaders. What technology teams rarely lack is vision. What they often lack are the softer, people skills that help geeks work effectively with average users. Pearl's "Who do you serve? What do you do? Why do you do it?" seminar helps technology professionals and teams reengage with the human side of technology applications and its impact on total business performance.
-
Crisis management in the wake of team leadership failures. Every company will face a crisis of leadership at one time or another. Whether of a financial, cultural, or ethical nature, humans will commit grievous mistakes that can put the organization's survivability in jeopardy. Some organizations handle the fallout better than others. Steve Pearl's, "How did we get into this mess and what are we going to do to get out of it?", just-in-time seminar helps crisis management teams peel away the emotion from a leadership crisis to craft credible ways to recover. Pearl not only shows the organization how to survive a crisis, but how to thrive as it reinvents itself for the next phase of its life-cycle.
-
Alignment of technology planning to organizational mission and goals. All too often organizations throw good money after questionable technology. Pearl's, "Was this trip really necessary?", workshop helps technology team leaders and C-level executives insure that the capital they invest in technology expansion really adds value to the core mission of the organization.
-
Non-profit volunteer team leadership and leader coaching. With more than 25 years of volunteer leadership experience, Steve Pearl has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly in leadership styles applied to the challenge of motivating and guiding volunteers. His FREE seminar (for registered non-profits or volunteer groups), "Passionate Steamrollers", helps volunteer team leaders and the paid staff supervising all-volunteer teams know how to engage and guide their teams over the long haul without burning them out.
-
Presentation skills for nervous novices using a blend of humor, "safe harbor" peer workshops, and appropriate technology. One thing they just don't teach enough of in school is how to make a great presentation and engage an audience. As a long-time "front of house" leader for a variety of charitable causes, and as a C-level presenter in the for-profit world, Steve Pearl decompresses the high-pressure world of the executive presentation and shares tips and pointers for how to avoid stage fright while getting your message through.
Steve Pearl holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Eastern University and a Master of Science in Information Science from Pennsylvania State University. A licensed, "Amateur Extra" class Amateur Radio Operator, Pearl is the former head of Montgomery County’s “Amateur Radio Emergency Services” (ARES) and “Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services” (RACES). He has been married for 21 years to his wife Leah (also a Sociology major from Eastern!) and together they have three children (seen on the front page).
